Bad Days and Blue Eggs

So, yesterday was a bad day. Like hard core, bad day. I told Joe that I would be lucky if we all came out unharmed at the end of the day. Right as I said that, a car cut me off and made me slam on my brakes. It was like everything that could go wrong, did. It was things like me jamming my hand on the corner of a counter and now have a massive bruise and cut on my hand, snow (enough said), and almost getting hit like 4 times in a 3 hour period. Things just kept piling up and I was getting sick of it. My house was beyond a mess and I didn't even get our bed made until like 5 in the evening (which, isn't a huge deal, but to me, if I get my bed made, I'm doing good). So, instead of focusing on the negative of things yesterday, I told myself that I would make a list of things that went right and good for me. And that is why I'm writing today. Hopefully, any of you that are having a bad day can do the same and focus on the positive instead of the horrible things.

1. I got a TON of things done yesterday. I woke up to a house that I would be ashamed of letting my mom into, and went to bed with a house that was presentable for her!!
2. The lady at the return desk at Kohl's was SOOOO nice. I had no receipt, no tags, and she was so nice about it. I think all people need to be like that.
3. I got a DROID!! It is amazing! They do practically anything!
4. Some people in our ward brought us cookies last night. They are some of the nicest people. They just brought them for the heck of it. It made my night. And they were super yummy!!
5. I got a cookie club card at Wal-Mart!!! I know, it is for Jacob, but still, do you know what this means!? It means Jacob gets a free cookie whenever we go to Wal-Mart and is good throughout the whole store!! It's the little things!!
6. The bird laid eggs in our nest. Pictures at the bottom!
7. My husband is amazing. He goes out of his way to make my days better when he knows they are bad.
8. I learned Jacob got hid daddy's running abilities. I learned this in the library, in Kohl's, and in the Sam's Club parking lot. (I'll just pretend that this is a positive, because it is, just not in the middle of the road!)

Anyway, hope you can make lemondade out of lemons!! Enjoy the pictures!

My little cheeser!!

The bird is usually sitting on her nest, but aren't the eggs gorgeous!!!! How fun!

Wow, Val, he really looks like a little boy not a baby. He's turning into quite the little charmer!

When you put it that way, it sounds like a pretty awesome day to me!!!

Well, I don't know why, but I just sobbed reading your blog today!! Maybe it's just because I remember so well, having a small child, having my house a disaster, getting cut off while driving and worrying about my babies getting hurt, jamming my hand into "something", and nobody felt sorry for me . . . but myself!

You are such a good example to me - I need to make lemonade out of lemons more often than I do, and it sounds like you had a great time doing it.

Love the pictures - your little man certainly is growing up, he is so cute! And, I can't wait to see the little birds!

Thanks for all your help at the wedding!!!!! I know how nervous you were playing the piano - you did a fantastic job at a moments notice . . . literally, a moments notice!! I love you, have a wonderful Wednesday!

Jacob looks soooooo grown up today in the pictures!! Such a handsome young man!! Having dad running ability can come in handy yuo can wear him out let him run and put things up for you or run and get things-Joe used to love to help that way when he was little. Thanks for the pictures of the eggs - I love it!! And as for the house there is a saying about "go away cobwebs go awya dust..." anyway it is a whole poem about being busy playing, and rocking your little one. I always lovwed reading it on the days I had like that - and trust me all who have families have had them! And Joe always said "why make the bed your just getting into it at the end of the day again?"

It seems like once a bad day starts, it soesn't stop until you wake up the next morning . I am glad the you were able to find good on a bad day.
That Jacob is just so cute, I love to see new pics of him and I can see him as a runner, which like you said is good and bad.
The eggs are beautiful, I love that shade of blue.
Have a great day. Love, Laura

I am so sorry I wasn't here for you on Wednesday. You should have called. I am so proud of you Valerie You are such a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend. Thank you. What a great example you are to me. I love the pictures of our littel Jacob. He is so sweet. The poem Penny talked about goes like this (I memorized it when we lived in California and I had two kids under 2 years old).
"Cooking and cleaning can wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, I've learned to my sorrow. So settle down cobwebs, dust, got to sleep. I am rocking my baby, and babies don't keep."
Love you sweetie. The robin eggs are awesome.
