We did it! We got a house!!

It took a while, but we did it. We bought a house out in Ucon. It's 4 bedroom, 2 bath, with an office, and an amazing backyard/garden and a shop! We are beyond excited. We have tried to get a house in the past but everytime we would try to they would see Joe's credit, which isn't good because of his accidents and all they would tell us was to go file bankruptcy and come back in 3 years. Needless to say, we were very discouraged. But one of Joe's co-workers said to go to Bell Financial and that they do all they can to help people. So we do. And he was right. He helped us get Joe's credit up and did all he could to help us. We got a Rural Development loan, which basically means that you can't buy in city limits of Idaho Falls. Once we started looking we realized that anything out of Idaho Falls was severely over priced. But we kept on looking. This whole process from start to finish has been 4-5 months and very stressful! But, if you want to get a home loan, I suggest going to Bell Financial because they help in any way they can. We had found a house in Rigby, one that we really liked, put an offer on and the man selling it (it wasn't even his house, it was his deceased mothers) wanted more than the asking price. What a crock. So he ignored us because our offer wasn't what he wanted. He eventually just took it off the market because nobody would offer what he wanted...because he wanted more than what it was worth! So we kept looking and finally found on in the area we wanted and the price range we wanted. It took a little negotiating but the people had put an offer in on another house so they kinda needed out of this one so they basically went with what we offered. They got completely moved out yesterday and that was when we got the keys. So what do we do?? Go over there of course. They had a ton of stuff so it was kind of hard to imagine anything that we had in there. It was nice to see it empty and decide where we wanted stuff. And I went picture crazy!! So here they are. SOme are a little blurry because it was almost dark and the outside ones were hard to get. But here you go!
Sorry it was so dark. I'm sure I'll post another one when it is lighter.
The front entry way.
The living room. Sorry it's a little blurry.

The fire place in our dining room.

The kitchen. It's a little small, but I still love it. There is a panty on the far right of the picture.
The very yellow master bedroom. The closet and another window is on the left. I just couldn't get it in the shot. I'm not going to post pictures of the other rooms yet, because they are similar to this one and there is nothing but blank walls.
The bathroom upstairs.
The downstairs. It has a bar and a pellet stove.
The fourth bedroom downstairs.

This is right off the 4th bedroom. It's the mechanical/storage room.

The other half of the downstairs. The door on the left is the office and the door with mirrors on it is the bathroom.
The office. Awesome wallpaper right? The top wallpaper has a story. This used to be some lady's hair cutting place but then she and her husband were getting a divorce. So to get back at the wife, the guy put fishing wallpaper up in her salon. Mean. Not only for her but for future owners.

The laundry room. With more storage! They left all the paint they used, a bag of pellets, and the left over tile they used in the kitchen and entry!

Sorry it's blurry. This is only a portion of the backyard! It's big and in the back (you can hardly see it) is a garden space. That has raspberries!!!)
The shop! Joe is thrilled! It's a pretty good size, too!
Well, that's it for the tour right now! We move in this weekend and we couldn't be happier!!

I'm so jealous. That looks like a nice house, crazy wallpaper and all! I'm in love with the hardwood floor; it looks beautiful. I'm so totally jealous of all the storage space and room. I'm tired of feeling cramped all the time. Maybe it will be better at your old place!

Congratulations on buying a house. That is a very exciting thing! Now you can start building your own equity, instead of helping to build someone else's equity!! Good luck with the move.

Your little Jacob will have tons of room to run - and lots of room for nieces, nephews and cousins?!?!?!? Hopefully for Aunts and Uncles too, can't wait to see it! Bob will be so jealous of the shop - Joe will have fun creating in it! Congratulations!

Gosh! This is so exciting and I'm totally jealous- I can't wait to have our own house... someday... years down the road.. *sigh* Until then, I'm glad I can live vicariously through you and others who are nice enough to post their own pics and blog about their nice, roomy houses with hardwood floors and big back yards where they can keep a puppy if they so desire, or that they at least don't have to share with a lot of other random people... ooo! And you can have a GARDEN!!! Congrats Val!! I'm way excited for you! (If you can't tell... hah)
