A Family is Forever

On Saturday, I got the amazing opportunity to go to my cousin's sealing to his wife and little daughter. It was such a spiritual time and one I don't think I will ever forget. It got me thinking about sealings and what an absolute blessing it is to be able to be sealed to our families forever, even after death, as long as we stay righteous and do what we are supposed to do.

I taught the second verse to I love to See The Temple in July. The second verse is particularly about families and forever.
I Love to See The Temple (Second verse)
I love to see the temple, I'll go inside someday
I'll covenant with my father, I'll promise to obey.
For the temple is a holy place, where we are sealed together
As a child of God I know this truth, A Family is Forever.

It is such a blessing to know this truth. If we make those covenants AND obey (I guess that is the whole covenant part of it!) we can go to the temple and be sealed together forever as a family.

I hope he doesn't mind me telling this story, but my nephew Dallen, was about 5 when he got the opportunity to be sealed to his whole family. It was a couple of weeks before Joe and I got sealed. We were sitting outside of the temple and I asked him if he knew about who was on top of the temple. He answered in the most sincere little innocent voice. "Yeah, it is Angel Moroni. He is blowing his horn to call all of the families to come to the temple and be together forever." Ah man! Now I know why Christ tells us to be like little children.

I am so blessed to be sealed to my husband and have Jacob and any future children sealed to us for time AND eternity. No matter what happens, we are all together and we know this. What a comfort. I just read a talk by Elder Richard G. Scott about this. I won't go into detail, but I highly suggest going and reading it. The Eternal Blessing of Marriage.

I hope you all don't think I'm being preachy or anything. After Saturday, I just wanted to share my own testimony that I know that we can be together forever and that a family is forever!
