The 4th of July

We had a very eventful 4th. It was perfect weather, spent with great, wonderful people, and there was only one minor injury. It was success. We started off sleeping in (except for the blaring fire truck driving passed at 6:45 A.M. to announce the fireman's breakfast, lovely. At least this year we were prepared!). After eating breakfast and lounging around, we headed over to my parents house for a barbeque. Jacob got to play in the little pool with his cousins and had a blast!
Playing with Sydney. He thought splashing was great. Sorry Syd!

Floating with Payton. They were in "boats". Jacob kept trying to tip Payton over. The little stinker. You can see a little mischievous look on his face in some of the pictures!
On their boats.

Little stinker.

Trying to tip her.

Love that little face!!

Next, we went to our friends house that lives down the street. There were a bunch of our friends there. Loads of pictures for this one. Good food, a giant slip n' slide (with Dawn soap as an additive to make it go faster), a bomb made by Joe (He reassured me after the fact that it doesn't do damage, just super load.), someone got hit with a firework (but not serious), and then the grand finale of fireworks after the sun went down.
Playing with his little buddies.

Not sure who thought it was a good idea to give the kids (and "big" kids a.k.a. adults) squirt guns. Seriously. Give them squirt guns and everyone turns 5 years old again!

The homemade slip and slide.

Joe was the first of the "big" kids to go down. Soon after all of the guys were taking turns.

And Joe going again.

Trying to convince Jacob to go again. He wouldn't do it. I don't blame him.

Watching the madness.

Playing.

Now time for the fireworks. Sparklers for Jacob.

He was mad that his ran out. Love this face!

It was a great day! So grateful for our freedom and for everyone that fights and protects it. I can't believe how absolutely blessed we are to live in such an amazing country!!
