Quite a Realization and a Challenge!

Just recently, I started an organ class. It is a 6-7 week coarse that our church is doing. I am one of our ward organists and thought it would be helpful to get some pointers on playing. Little did I know...really. I didn't know anything! I have been playing the organ as part of a calling for the last 2 1/2 to 3 years. It is a little humbling (or humiliating, which ever you prefer) to learn from these fabulous, talented women everything I was doing wrong. Now, they didn't tell me that I was and probably didn't know how or what I was doing wrong, but it was my own realization of what I had been doing that wasn't right. I came into this class thinking it would be gathering a couple of things that I didn't know, or maybe working on some thing that I wasn't quite good at yet. No. It was basically relearning the organ. It is amazing that in 6 weeks, I have learned so much about this instrument and how much more I have to learn! I am beyond grateful for the two ladies that have taken the time out of their busy schedules and taught us. Sometimes it was just 2 of us. But I have learned more than I ever would have imagined! Now for a challenge. Or just something to think about! Think of something you know how to do or a skill that you are good at. Take a course (online or not) or look up information about it and learn something new about something that you already do or a skill that you have. It might surprise you how much there is out there to learn!!

That's awesome! I know I am doing tons wrong on the organ, so my goal is to just make it sound like I know what I am doing. I would love for someone to tell me what I should do differently.
