Primary Children's

Monday, August 3rd, we left for Salt Lake for yet another check up for Jacob's hydronephrosis (don't hold me accountable for spelling, I don't have a clue how to spell that.) It is his dialated kidney. Tuesday was his appointment for an ultrasound and doctor checkup. The ultrasound went alright. Jacob just wasn't sure what to think of the lady putting something cold and gooey on his back AND belly. But he did really well considering. While we were there last time, they saw a syst on his liver also. But the doctor said it could be a blur in the ultrasound or it could be an actual syst. It ended up being a blur, or it could have gone away. Either way, thank goodness, it is gone!

Up to the doctor we went. He is Chad Wallis. The past 3-4 times that we went, he just told us that he didn't know what was causing it and to come back in 3 months. We got sick of no answers so we just quit going. I don't know if that was the wisest decision, but we were getting tired of hearing the same thing and paying a whole ton for "I'm not sure what it is, or what's causing it. So come back in 3 months." During the appointment, he did tell us some good news though. It has gotten better since last time we went. Last time, it was 26% efficient. now it is 35%!!

He then told us that we only need to come back once a year. Hooray!! And then some more good news. He thinks that it is just the way he was built. So once he is potty trained and he knows that he can urinate normal and makes sure that he doesn't get consistent UTI's, then we NEVER need to come back!!!! It was such a relief. When I was telling my mom about the appointment, I told here that we were starting potty training today! I wish. But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Soon enough we will no longer have frequent trips to Primary Children's and we can move on with our lives!!

This is a picture of the last time we went down to Primary Children's. It was so sad and I felt so helpless. Poor little guy.
