Panic!!

So, today after going to school, I needed to go grocery shopping. I go home to get my grocery list that I had left in our bedroom. I knew the exact location where it was and I also knew it would take me 2 seconds to get. So, I left Jacob in the car, got our spare key out of our garage, ran up and got my list and coupons, ran back down, put the key back in the garage, shut the garage, and went to get in the car. It was locked. Jacob was smiling in there thinking it was great that I was checking all the doors. Usually the driver side door always stays unlocked if you get out unless you lock it manually. No. It locked. Then all I could think was "Joe put a spare under the car, let's look." It was in a little black magnetic box that sticks under the car. So, looking like a fool, i'm on all fours looking for a little box. I can't find it. I call Joe and he told me that it was there and that I need to look in the right place. I didn't know what to look for, but I for sure knew that nothing was there that looked like a box. I told him I'd look harder and call if I couldn't find it. After more searching, I still couldn't find it. The only thing I could think of after that was to ask our neighbor Jay. I didn't want to bother Joe and take him away from work and make it so he would have to stay later than usual. So I went to our neighbor's house and he came out and helped me look. He couldn't find it. Remember, Jacob is in the car this whole time. By this time he is NOT happy and screaming. Jay couldn't find it so he calls Joe. I talk to Joe and he was coming home. In the meantime, Jacob is screaming, I'm close to tears, and our neighbor cleaned out the foggy stuff that gets in headlights (thank you, by the way. It needed it). Joe finally showed up, got under the car, and lo and behold...no key box. It must have fallen off sometime while driving. Looks like it's time to get a new key. After getting Jacob out, he wouldn't go back in his carseat, so it looks as though we will be going shopping another day.

I am so sorry that happened!! I know it was scary for you and Jacob. I remember a friend of mine did the same thing ran in to grab medicine for the baby she ended up callint the police who came and used something in her window to unlock the door. The baby cried so much he needed the medication as soon as they got in (he had asthma) but all ended well. It is just a real panicky feeling when it happens to you!!
