Our Little Temper Tantrum

You read right, Jacob has officially started throwing temper tantrums. The best times are in church or in some public place where everyone stares at you the whole time. It's great. He stomps his feet, or if you pick him up, he kicks his feet. The best one so far was when I was at my parents house. It was beautiful outside, and all the grandkids were there, so we go outside to go for a walk. We forgot our stroller so Jacob and I walked. He was off. For a little while, he held my hand and then realized I was holding him back. So he pushed my hand off of his and took off. A car was coming so I picked him up (we were in the middle of the street) and moved. He started kicking his feet, kicking me, and screaming a deafening scream. It was great. As soon as I put him down he took off running. Man, is he getting fast.

Next story, we were at church. This isn't a temper tantrum story, just a sad one. He was super tired, so while Joe taught our primary class, we went out into the hall. He started running, and tripped on his foot and face planted in the hard floor. He had a big red circle on his forehead the read of the day and now has a little yellow bruise. Poor kid. But it doesn't end there. Then, he felt the need to run again. So, just to paint a little picture, we were in the hallway by the foyer and the next ward was shuffling in for their sacrament. The prelude was playing on the organ, people were taking their coats off and hanging them up right where we were and he is running down the hall. He once again tripped on his foot and fell. He started screaming and I picked him up and his mouth was bloody. I thought he had hit his teeth so I went into our class, got his sippy cup and went back into the hall, where everyone was! He was still screaming but thankfully he would take his sippy cup. I was hoping the cold water would help his teeth. Then I noticed that he had bit his lip and that was where the blood was coming from. We went to the drinking fountain and he gulped that up. I figured the fountain would get water to his lip better than his sippy would. The poor kid had a fat lip the rest of the day.

Since I've basically told all of my horrible mothering moments, I figured I'd post an adorable picture of our little "midget" as Joe calls him.

Val, theses are just normal mom stories...we have all had them. I think every picture I had of Joe when he was little had scrapes or cuts on his face or arms and legs. Keep up the good work!! You're a great mom!!
