Oh, What Do You Do In The Summer Time!

Yesterday, we had our enrichment and it was a lady that gave cheap/free ideas on what to do in the summer with little kids. She had some really great ideas. So, I thought I'd share them! And if anyone has other ideas, PLEASE share! I'm always looking for ways to entertain toddler age kids!
Free In the Area
~Edwards does free movies, Tuesday thru Thursday. To see what movies they are, go to regal.com and it is under some tab that is family friendly summers, something like that.
~There are TONS and TONS of parks. You could basically go to a park a week, and never run out in the area.
~Splash park, in Rexburg. It is free and entertaining!
~Library, they have a reading program for kids that don't read, kids that do, and for mommy's!
~the Visitor's center. There is a scavenger hunt in there that you can do! All you need to do is ask the missionaries in there!
~The Teton Dam museum (more for older kids/adults)
~Hiking, cress creek, warm river, Hell's half acre, Mesa Falls, etc.
~Huckleberry picking
Things at home
~There are lots of websites out there with coloring/tracing pages! It's important not to let your kids brains get mushy!!
~Make your own hand puppets, crafts, etc.
~Cooking School, each week, let one child pick a recipe that they want to try and let the kids help. there are tons of kid cookbooks at the library that you can check out!
~Have an activity jar that you can choose from after chores.

Hope you enjoyed the list, and can find something to do off of it!

I love those ideas - your mom was telling me the other day, about having a weekly theme and then doing things all week that were related to that theme . . . she's so clever!! It can be quite a challenge to keep a 2 year old busy without costing a lot! Love you.
