So, a couple of posts ago, I mentioned that we were redoing our bathroom downstairs (not by choice, thank you hairline crack in the pipe that we didn't notice for almost 5 years!). We gutted it, it is still a huge mess and still gutted. Joe went to redo plumbing and to replace our old toilet upstairs just to update it a little. Well, he took the toilet off and found this...
If you can't tell what that is, it is a rotted floor. Yup. Whoever installed the toilet (which was done before we moved in) didn't put the vapor barrier where it was supposed to go. So basically every time we flushed, water went into our floors. Super. Luckily, it was only around the toilet and bathtub. It didn't go out of the bathroom and it wasn't the whole floor. But we decided to gut anyway. We would have to do the floor anyway, so why pull up some time and not guarantee that we could find matching somewhere. We just started from scratch. But that meant, that for the last 3 weeks, we have been without a bathroom. That's right. No bathroom. But I have to say, since buying our camper, it has been a huge blessing more than once! We pulled that around and used the toilet and shower there. And we have amazing family and friends who graciously let us use theirs and so many offers. Despite all of this, we truly are amazingly blessed!!
Needless to say, We have been a bit preoccupied. We do have a toilet and shower inside now and we just need to set the vanity and finish a few odds and ends and we will be done!!! More will be coming! I have tons to post, and now motivation is slowly returning so it might just get done!
