A Challenge to be Thankful
My aunt Barbara is doing something on her blog that I think is a great idea. Every week until Thanksgiving she is going to blog about something she is thankful for. So, I'm going to join her. What a better way to realize the many blessings we have then to write about them. I think I get caught up in life too often and let things go by that are truly blessings in my life. This week (and always) I am thankful for a temple so close. Sadly, we don't go near enough. We always have some excuse on why we can't make it. We have this or that. But why make excuses to not go the temple? What better place on the entire earth to be then the temple. It is the closest place we can be to our Heavenly Father. I always hear about people saving for years to make a day or week long trip to the nearest temple. Luckily, temples are now going up in places we never thought they would and what a blessing. But we have 2 within 25 miles of our house. I am so thankful for that, for the opportunity to go and enjoy the blessings that are so close. I am truly going to make an effort to go to the temple more often!

What a wonderful thing to be thankful for! I feel the same way. and I agree with you, I don't think any of us are grateful enough for the blessings we have - we too caught up in material things and forget about all of the blessings that Heavenly Father offers in very silent ways each day - thanks for the reminder, love you, Aunt Barb
Oh Valerie, you are so insightful. I agree wholeheartedly with you. I love to go to the temple and I don't go near enough. I love the feeling I get there and knowing it is Heavenly Fathers house. Thank you. Love you.
I so agree with you!!! And we don't go often enough either. WE are some of those people who used to save to be able to spend any time at a temple, the closest one to ATL used to be Washington DC. And now we have one a couple blocks away, it is our goal to go more often and take advantage of the blessings that come from having a temple this close!!
